Meet the Bright Beginnings team, starting with Dr. Melissa Handley, MD.
Dr. Handley graduated from Baylor University as a distinguished honors graduate, and is a proud alumnus of UTMB medical school. She completed her residency in pediatrics at Children’s Medical Center Dallas and has been practicing as a pediatrician for almost 30 years!
Dr. Handley and her husband, Dr. David Handley, settled in Lufkin in 2000 with their three children: John, Eric, and Sarah. She loves spending time with her family, practicing medicine, and being part of Lufkin’s community.
FUN FACT: She met her husband in medical school where they happened to sit next to each other alphabetically—Hanson and Handley!
