Learn about the policies that help us provide your children with the best standard of care.
We are committed to providing the best possible care and service to you, and appreciate your understanding of your financial responsibilities as an essential part of your child’s care. If you have any questions concerning these policies, please contact our office.
If you have questions about your coverage, benefits, or payment obligations, it is important to check with your insurance company.
Payment may be made by cash, check, or credit/debit card. We also accept Health Savings Account (HSA) cards for payment. All returned checks will be subject to a service charge of $30.
To make sure that we can collect your portion of the bill once your insurance company processes the claim, we encourage you to leave a valid credit card on file with the practice. Your card will only be charged the outstanding amount that your insurance company determines to be ‘patient responsibility’, as spelled out in your Explanation of Benefits (EOB).
At Bright Beginnings Pediatrics, coordination of care is central to making sure that children get good quality healthcare. This means several hours are spent providing services that insurance does not pay for. Some of these services include processing various administrative requests, such as lengthy FMLA paperwork. A $25 fee may be charged for such items.
We are happy to work with families that prefer to pay directly for services or do not have insurance. For such patients, a time-of-service discount will be applied to the bill if settled in full on the day of service. This discount does not apply after the day of the visit.
We make every effort to meet the needs of our patients by offering preventative well child visits, as well as same-day sick visits when at all possible. Please contact the office to schedule a visit. We do not offer walk-in visits.
We make every effort to run on time, as we believe everyone’s time is equally valuable. If you are later than 15 minutes for your appointment, you will be offered the next available appointment time. Out of courtesy to our other patients, we may ask you to reschedule your appointment.
Missing an appointment without giving prior notice to the practice deprives other patients of the chance to take a slot that opens. We request notice of at least 1 business day for all cancellations. A $40 no-show fee may be assessed for all well and specialty consult visits not previously cancelled.
To renew a prescription, you can contact your pharmacy, call our office, or send a secure message using the Spruce app.
Please allow 24 hours notice for most medication renewals (72 hours for ADHD medications). Patients must be up to date on well child and follow up visits.
We firmly believe in the effectiveness of vaccines to prevent serious illness and to save lives, and we have complete confidence in vaccine safety. We strongly recommend that all children and young adults should receive the recommended vaccines according to the schedule published by the Centers for Disease Control and the American Academy of Pediatrics. If you have any questions about vaccines, please speak directly with your provider.
If your child’s illness or injury is life threatening, dial 911.
If you have an urgent question that cannot wait until the next business day, we have an after-hours pediatric nurse call service. To leave a message for them, call our office number and choose extension 1.
You may send a message through the Spruce app or our patient portal. We will respond on the next business day.
Also, please see our Patient Education Library and our Medication Dosage Calculator. Both these tools provide valuable information.
