New Patients
Nothing satisfies us more than watching a child grow into a healthy, well adjusted adult.

Whether you are expecting a new baby or are looking for a new doctor for your child, we thank you for trusting us with your child’s health. At Bright Beginnings Pediatrics we strive to be your child’s medical home where we can provide the highest-quality, compassionate, patient and family-centered care. To help ensure that we are a good fit for your family, we have provided some information for you below.
We welcome new patients starting at birth to 18 years of age. Established patients can be seen up to 22 years of age.
We work hard to provide comprehensive medical care and to serve as your child’s medical home. In order to do so, we ask that a copy is provided of past medical records to ensure we have a complete medical record for your child.
We strive to promote an atmosphere of respect for our patients and their families, and do not tolerate discrimination of any kind. We hope to create a safe and caring environment for all families because we understand that families come in many forms.
We encourage families to meet our providers, but children are not generally assigned to a specific provider and parents can generally schedule with whomever they choose. Same-day appointments will be booked with the available provider or providers.
We believe all children should receive the recommended vaccines according to the guidelines provided by the American Academy of Pediatrics (AAP). Vaccines are safe and effective in preventing diseases and health complications in children and young adults. However, we do not turn away families who are choosing not to vaccinate.
We share your joy and excitement and look forward to partnering with you on the exciting journey of raising a child.
Our office offers complimentary prenatal visits for expecting parents trying to determine if we will be a good fit for their child. First-time parents, parents with pregnancy complications, parents expecting multiple children, or parents adopting may find a prenatal visit especially helpful. It is a great way to build a relationship with our staff, and we are happy to address any questions and concerns parents have before they enter this exciting new chapter of their lives.
If you deliver your baby in Lufkin, you can request Dr. Handley to be your baby’s pediatrician at the hospital. However, regardless of who your pediatrician is or which hospital you deliver at, you can simply contact our office if you would like to establish your baby as a patient and schedule their first appointment.
